Organized in 1995, the Friends of the Darke County Park District is a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to “Promote and support the mission of the Darke County Parks through volunteerism and fund-raising.” The Friends strive to increase public awareness and appreciation of the beauty found within Darke County Parks. Their volunteerism shows throughout the county through Adopt-a-Waterway & Highway programs, helping staff run events such as Prairie Days, hosting the Waffle Breakfast, managing the Endowment Fund, and staffing the gift shop in the Nature Center.
