Notice to Contractors - Trail Phase IV

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
SHARED-USE TRAIL (PHASE IV) CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Sealed proposals will be received at the office of the Darke County
Park District Board at the Shawnee Prairie Nature Center, 4267 St. Rt.
502 W.,Greenville, Ohio until 1:00 PM, September 12,2016, for
furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete
the project known as Darke County Park District Shared-Use Trail Phase
IV, and at same time and place, publicly opened and read aloud. The
portion of trail to be constructed lies between the East side of USR
127 (at Bridge Creek) and extends Easterly, crossing Jaysville-St.
Johns Road, and ending at the current intersection of the shared-use
trail with State Route 571.
Contract documents, bid sheets, and plans and specifications can be
obtained at the office of the Darke County Engineer, Courthouse,
Greenville, Ohio, after August 29, 2016, at a cost of thirty dollars
($30.00) per set. A mandatory, pre-bid conference will be held at 9:00
AM on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the intersection of State Route
571 with the proposed shared-use trail (just South of Lake Avenue).
Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal, a Bid Guaranty
and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio
Revised Code. Bid security furnished in bond form shall be issued by a
Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide
said surety.
Each Proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties
submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each
bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar
size and complexity. The owner intends and requires that this project
be totally completed no later than November 15, 2016.
All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to
the extent practicable use Ohio Products, materials, services, and
labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally,
contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity
requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor's
Executive Order of 1972, and Governor's Executive Order 84-9 shall be
required. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on
Public Improvements in Darke County, Ohio as determined by the Ohio
Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and Hour Division, (614) 644-2239.
The Darke County Park District Board reserves the rights to waive
irregularities and to reject any or all bids.
