Native Plant Sale

There are so many benefits to planting native! From increasing biodiversity in your landscape to limited maintenance requirements, native plants continue to soar in popularity. This year, our native plant sale will take place on June 4th from 10am-4pm at the Bish Discovery Center. Instead of a limited number of species available for pre-sale, we are welcoming four native plant vendors who plan to bring a large variety of native plants, trees, and shrubs. Mark your calendar now, you don’t want to miss this sale! Each vendor's website is listed below if you'd like to preview what plants they may be bringing that Saturday! We are very excited to have an entirely new format for our plant sale with more variety and price points.

Darke County Parks Honors Wayne Nichols

Darke County Parks would like to invite you to join them as they honor the many fond memories of late maintenance supervisor, Wayne Nichols, with a celebration of the naming of the “Wayne Nichols Bridge” on the Tecumseh Trail in Greenville.  Wayne was instrumental in creating this beautiful stretch of trail over tough terrain for the community, as well as many other improvements around the Darke County Park District.  He was a hard worker and could have a wicked sense of humor.  DCP still misses him and talk of his “feats of daring” as he went about his job.

Please join DCP at this event to share your memories of Wayne with his family and friends and enjoy this lovely section of trail on
