Volunteer Living History Event
Have you ever thought of volunteering at one of the Park District’s historical events?
Does teaching history through historical reenacting sound interesting and innovative?
When you’ve walked through a historical camp have you thought “That looks like fun. I wonder what it takes to get started?”
Do you enjoy the amazing history of our area and Ohio in general?
If any of these apply to you, please join us at Shawnee Prairie Preserve, 4267 St. Rt. 502 W., Greenville on Saturday, July 25 from 9am to 5pm or Sunday, July 26 from 10 am to 3pm. Some of our history loving friends and reenactors will be set up in camp and would love to talk to you about what they do. The log house and blacksmith shop will also be open for the weekend.
Parking will be limited to the asphalt and gravel parking areas at the Nature Center to limit crowding. If the parking lot is full, please come back in a little while; we will still be here! We request that you bring a mask for visiting in buildings and within a six foot distancing area; we want to keep everyone safe! Hope to see you later this week!
