Jr Naturalists - Orienteering

ORIENTEERING
Grades 3-6 / Shawnee Prairie Preserve / Pre-registration Required

A compass and map can take you anywhere if you know how to use it. From the cardinal and ordinal directions, to degrees, to taking (and maintaining) a bearing, we’ll practice the basics. Then we’ll play some exciting games to test our skills.

Jr. Naturalists is a series of monthly, two and a half-hour long programs designed to give  grades 3-6 a hands-on introduction to natural resource management. Hikes, work projects, and independent study are all part of this fun-filled nature study club. Programs are offered one Saturday of every month and are supervised by staff & adult volunteers. A materials fee of $3.00 is charged for each program, and pre-registration is required.
